Data-center cable cleats secure specified power cables along generator, transformer, switchgear and UPS distribution routes. Select the formation and restraint assembly from the electrical design, cable schedule and fault study.
For projects requesting 316L stainless steel, confirm the material, cable outside diameter, liner, support arrangement and test evidence together. The cleat schedule should identify each circuit and installation zone so the procurement package can be reviewed against the drawings.
Power-cable locations to include in the cleat schedule
| Power route | Selection focus | Procurement input |
|---|---|---|
| Transformer to switchgear | Cable formation, short-circuit duty, tray or ladder strength and fixing interfaces. | Fault study, cable schedule and support cross-section. |
| Generator feeder | Route exposure, transitions at equipment and the approved restraint arrangement. | Generator feeder drawing, cable diameters and mounting details. |
| UPS input, output or bypass | The actual circuit arrangement, cable grouping, working space and model traceability. | UPS distribution drawing, cable schedule and maintenance-access requirements. |
| Vertical riser | Cable weight, axial retention, cleat pitch and support load. | Cable weight per metre, riser height and installation drawing. |
| Outdoor or coastal plant area | Required stainless grade, fastener compatibility, drainage and liner exposure. | Environmental and material specifications for that zone. |
Single, trefoil or quad: follow the cable layout
A single cleat holds one cable; a trefoil cleat holds three single-core cables in a triangular formation; a quad selection needs the positions and diameters of all four cables. Confirm any different neutral-cable diameter on the drawing.
Specify outside diameter in millimetres. The conductor area in mm² is a separate value and cannot select the clamping range by itself. For AC power routes, retain the conductor grouping and spacing approved by the design team.
Short-circuit restraint and mounting evidence
Request evidence applicable to the proposed model and complete installation under IEC 61914. Check peak current, RMS current and duration separately, together with cleat spacing, intermediate restraints, supports and fixing hardware. A change to cable diameter, formation or support arrangement requires a documented applicability review.
For fire, smoke, halogen or UV requirements, state the test method, classification and affected component. The liner and other non-metallic parts need their own applicable evidence. Facility resilience or Tier certification is a separate project assessment.
Data-center markets and project purchasing contexts
These public references show relevant infrastructure contexts for EPC contractors, electrical installers and distributors. They do not imply Younxin supplied or is approved for the named facilities. Current tenders and product acceptance need separate verification.

316L product options for the project schedule
Use the FF-T 316L trefoil family when a trefoil formation is specified. For drawing-defined arrangements, compare the custom-layout option and single, trefoil and quad selection page. Match each proposed assembly to its current drawing and applicable reports.
Certifications and Test Reports Available
Younxin can provide certification and test documentation for project procurement and technical review.
DNV / ABS Approvals
Approval documentation is available for applicable cable-cleat models. Confirm the certificate scope for the proposed model with your quotation.
IEC 61914 Test Reports
STIEE short-circuit test reports are available for the tested trefoil and quad cable-cleat assemblies.
Intertek Test Reports
UV-aging and needle-flame test documentation is available for the stated sample models.
Certificates and complete test reports are provided on request. Confirm the covered model, assembly and installation conditions for your project.
Prepare a project cable-cleat RFQ
Start with the cable outside diameter in millimetres, arrangement and quantity. Add the cable schedule or cross-section drawing and delivery destination.
- Circuit and location: power-feeder duty, horizontal or vertical route, indoor or outdoor exposure.
- Fault data: peak short-circuit current, RMS current and fault duration, stated separately.
- Installation: proposed cleat spacing, cable centres, tray or ladder drawing, support material and mounting-hole details.
- Assembly: requested 316 or 316L grade, liner, fasteners, material traceability and applicable test reports.
- Procurement: model quantities, required delivery date, destination and the project’s document schedule.

Data-center cable-cleat questions
Do all data-center cable routes need 316L cleats?
Material selection depends on the project specification and local exposure. Identify indoor, outdoor and coastal zones separately, then confirm the specified assembly for each.
Does a cable cleat establish a data center’s Tier rating?
Facility certification concerns the complete site design and assessment. Select and document the cleat against its own required performance and installation criteria.
Can one trefoil model cover every cable in the schedule?
Check the actual outside diameter, circuit formation, fault duty and installation for each line item. Use the catalogue model range and current drawing to prepare the proposed schedule.
What documents help an electrical contractor obtain approval?
A model schedule, dimensioned drawing, material information, applicable reports, installation instructions and a clear list of deviations from the specification support a structured submittal.
For exposed industrial power routes, see the oil and gas cable-cleat procurement guide.
