Information required before selection

A joint connects two complete cable systems, so data is required for Cable A and Cable B.

  • U0/U (Um) and cable standard for both sides
  • Conductor material, class, size and diameter for both sides
  • Insulation diameter over conductor and over insulation
  • Metallic screen type and cross-section
  • Armour and outer-sheath construction
  • Direct-buried, tray, tunnel, duct or submerged environment
  • Bonding, link-box and sheath-voltage requirements
