Short answer: exothermic welding materials should be selected by conductor material, conductor size, connection shape, mold type, weld powder weight and grounding standard.
| Weld powder | Powder weight must match conductor size and mold cavity, such as 65g, 90g, 115g, 150g or project-specific size. |
|---|---|
| Graphite mold | Mold type should match straight, T, cross, rod-to-cable, tape-to-tape or cable-to-plate connection. |
| Starting powder and tools | Confirm ignition method, handle clamp, mold brush and cleaning tool requirement. |
| Grounding conductor | Confirm copper, copper bonded steel, tape, cable, rebar or ground rod connection. |
Exothermic welding powder and mold must be selected together. Powder weight alone is not enough for a correct quotation.
